WinXP unlock sharded drives?

I have this computer that had win2k on it and had a copy different shared drives that were only accessable to certain users. Well i reformated the system drive to upgrade to winxp pro and now those drives that were shared before to the certain users are not accessable at all. It tells me " Path.. is not accessible", "Access Denied"

Is there any way to unlock those drives or at least get the data and make new drives.

I am useing an admin account and even a a username that was the same as the previous of one of the drives.

Any help would be great.

As you found out, identical usernames mean NOTHING to a newly created Windows system. All accounts (including Administrator) are uniquely created when you create a new Windows install. That's why an administrator has to take ownership and then re-configure the access rights to the files or resource.
