I recently set up internet connectivity for a friend, basically a DSL modem and a Netgear router for connection sharing. There are just 2 computers, a desktop (wired) and a laptop (wireless).
Everything was working great until a few days ago, when he found that he couldn't get online from the desktop. Instead of just rebooting the router or DSL modem, he went in and tinkered with settings in Windows, I have no idea to what extent.
Now he still can't get on the internet, and who knows what parameters he changed. Would System Restore help in this case? I know for sure that he will have available restore points from before this whole mess (since I built and set up the PC as well).
