WinXP start menu hang

Everytime i start up my comp with WinXP, it loads very, very fast, but for 60-90 seconds, the start menu will not come up, i just see the hour glass. I can move the mouse, and click on icons, which does nothing until the 60-90 seconds pass, then the start menu appears and any programs i'd clicked on open. any ideas how to fix this?🙁
 
This is most likely due to an SBLive! if you have it. My system use to do the same thing in Win2k (and in win98, it would hang when booting) with the older SBLive! drivers. I found that in XP, updating to the new XP drivers on Creative's site solved the problem.
