I just installed WinXP and when I point to Start \ Programs and there is nothing there. If I right click and explore all the programs shows up in a folder. How come the nothing shows up when I click on the start menu \ programs. Does anyone have any idea? I try the classic view also and when I point the mouse over to the programs groups it said its empty. Please Help.

Thanks

OK . . . XP is different in the Start Menu. Programs earn the right to be there by usage. How many programs end up there is set by right clicking on the taskbar and opening Properties, Start Menu, Customize. There is a number window that sets how many programs can work there way to the Start Menu.

If you installed "clean" you start with nothing and then programs earn their right to be there.

Thanks for the reply. But my problem is actually more mess up than I thought. When I install new programs, right at the end of the installations it said that 'failed to create program group'. I am login as local admin with full administrator rights and I keep getting the same error. Don't get y?
