WinXP +SP2 modem problems

Please help.

I have winxp and service pack 1 installed. everything works ok and my modem connections are in between 44000 and 46000 kbps. but when i install service pack 2 maximum connection is 33600(everytime).

try disabling the microsoft firewall...its probably one of the sp2 services running that's bottlenecking it...
