WinXP SP2 limited no. of outgoing connections workaround

I've read that WinXP SP2 severely limits yr no. of outgoing connections (to 10 I think).
Is there any workaround to this issue?

You've read wrong. SP2 limits simultaneous outbound TCP connection attempts per second. Unless you try to connect to 10 invalid IP addresses in the same second, you will never hit this issue. The only legitimate software that could be impacted by this queue is a port scanner. Everything else should work exactly as it did in XP SP1.

Bingo

I have sometimes got stupid messages from Outlook Express saying too many connections and it would just die. However, I never got messages from other messaging and newsgroup programs.
