WinXP SP2- Does it have a built in fax program?

I scanned in a document on my scanner. I'm using Paperport v7 as my scanning software.

There's a fax option. I drag and drop the file to the fax icon, but nothing happens.

In Control Panel, my fax is setup as "symantec fax starter edition" on Com3. My modem is on Com3.

What am i doing wrong?

thx, but i was there and it didn't solve my problem.

i have no idea why i have symantec as my fax program. the only symantec product on my compuer is Norton Antivirus 2002.

Does WinXP have a default fax program i can install?

It may. Open up the printers control panel. There should be a "setup faxing" link.
