I had this happen to me a while back... i can't remember the exact steps.... but here's what i suggest you do:

1. Make sure that 'Simple file sharing' Is unchecked. Should be an option when opening 'explorer' and clicking on folder options, then click on the advanced tab, then uncheck simple file sharing.

2. You either highlight each individual file that you need, or you highlight the folder it's in... i would try with the folder first. What you need to do is take ownership fo the file. YOu need to get into the advanced security options and click on the 'owner' tab.

You should see a whole string of what looks like nonesence. You'll need to add your username to that list, and i think you remove the garbled one.

3. Attempt to open a file and see if it worked... If it did great :) If not, you'll have to play with permissions a bit more... The main thing is that you must be allowed to read, execute, take ownership of the files.... and those rules must propogate through to the subdirectories.

Keep in mind that you'll need to do all this as admin, or on an admin account.

Hope this helps...
