WinXP RC1 and KT7 issues..

Anyone here successfully install WinXP RC1 with a KT7-RAID or similar configuration? My system is fairly standard and I have NEVER had any issues installing any OS's. This weekend however, with the release of RC1, I try to install and it hangs.

I am not ruling out that changing my BIOS, etc on this board would help. There are some reports of issues with WinXP RC1 and the Highpoint controller. Any help is appreciated.

There are issues with Highpoint and winXP RC1. Hopefully they will release a new XP version soon.

They JUST released RC1, so they probably won't release RC2 all that soon.

Oh well, I guess these are the issues you are going to have witha pre-release. From what I understand, if you don't use the RAID controller you are OK. However, I want the speed so I guess it is back to Win2k.

I dont have the kt7 Raid but I do have just the plain old KT7 and I didnt have any problems installing winxp on it.

It's running fine with me on a kt7a raid. I'm not using raid though.

I was able to load XP with the RAID enabled. I do have a third HD on the secondary IDE controller which needed to be disabled in order for WinXP to load on the RAID. You will also need to change your boot order in the BIOS, the ATA_RAID device need to be the first and second boot devices under the advanced features if you are using a non-raided drive.
