I'm having issues with WinxP and the built in Roxio burning software. It only allows to burn at 1x? Anyone able to get a faster speed?

If I try and install Roxio EZCD 5 plat, it says the software is not compatible. Anyone else able to use EZCD 5 w/ XP without problems? I have a Yamaha 8x drive on tehre. Tried using the Phillips 8x but both don't seem to work.

I'm also using RC1. once you installed easy cd 4.0, update to 4.05. I had no problem burning using it w/ easy cd 4.05 under XP RC1.

good luck

I cant even get EasyCD 5 to work in XP, it will burn and looks like its working fine but then I get a disc with unreadable files on it. I do however get full speed burning with the Roxio software in XP, with my Plextor 8x scsi.

Hmmm..... under drive properties in XP, it only shows 1x as a speed option. It works find under Win2K but no XP? Strange behavior. Also, I'm trying to upgrade the firmware for the Yamaha drive. But I need the ASPI layer. Any issues with the ASPI layer and WinXP?

had the same problem, but since i bought TDK 24/10/40, which came with ahead nero ver. 5,
i deinstalled Roxio cd creator. IMO, cd creator is good if it works with your computer,
had friends with no problem running it and my kids are running it with no problems either.

EZCD 5 has/had known issues in Win 2k (patch avail - i wonder if 2K patch will work on XP), but I cant get it going good even in Win 98. Went back to 4.02. Supposedly it was rushed out after change to Roxio.
Somebody here mentioned EZCD (Roxio) is also owned by Nero people.
Does that sound right?

I burnt a couple of CD's on XP RC1 using the native software. I don't know what speed it burnt at but it was a lot faster than 1X (with a Plextor 12/10/32 burner). Overall though XP seemed kind of slow to me so I'm already back to running Win2K.
