Hep!

I've just put my new rig together with the following components:
AsusA7V266-E/RAID
AthlonXP 1900+
512mb DDR
Asus Geforce 3 Ti500 Deluxe
Soundblaster Audigy
2*Maxtor D740X 40gb in RAID0 setup

Problem is that WinXP refuses to finish the installation using the WinXP drivers for the Promise Fasttrak that came with the motherboard. It is possible to install using a set of Win2K drivers, but when I get the system up and running it locks up for approx. 3-4 seconds every once in a while - read: VERY often.
This happens during simple things as deleting folders, opening the start menu and also in games (Ghost Recon).
I have tried to upgrade to WinXP drivers for the Promise controller once WinXP IS installed; it doesn't crash but the problem remains.
ALL drivers are newest versions pulled of the net????!?

Now what - back to good ol' Win 98?????

Please save my day

I'm not familiar with WinXP so I may be mistaken, but from what I've heard it has native support for most RAID cards. When you run the WinXP setup, did you supply 3rd party drivers? I've read a couple of message where ppl just use the native drivers (they don't supply 3rd party drivers).

Anyway, Asus has some Promise Controller WinXP drivers. Are those what you are using at the moment?
