This is a bit of a general question..
I recently built my first computer with a amd 1600+ cpu abd WinXp..
I have been noticing wierd behavior in Windows XP and the programs I run. There seems to be a second or two delay after I click and hit enter sometimes...
I was just using Microsoft C++ and I noticed that after I hit enter to go to the next line there is a noticable delay... It just cant be normal, my PII 200MHz dell laptop didnt have anywhere near the same delay.. I used C++ all the time and never noticed similar behavior..
I am a little worried I may have damaged the cpu during
the installation.. windows xp says the cpu is working correctly and I do not have any problems with crashing or anything.. Maybe I tightened the heatsink
to hard onto the cpu?? well I guess one question is would I know if i damaged the cpu or would there be subtle problems??
Is there a known problem with winxp with similar symptoms??
Is there a way to check that the cpu is performing 100%??
I have to find a way to narrow down the possibilities..
I would appreciate any ideas guys, Thanks!
