WinXP Pro Upgrade Question

Hey guys,

I've got a customer who wants to upgrade his version of Windows, currently he's using Win98 on his systems. He went out and purchased 2 retail copies of WinXP Pro. He did not get the Upgrade to WinXP Pro, can he perform an upgrade with what he has or is a "clean install" his only option?

While I recommend a clean install, I don't think he really wants to do this unless absolutely necessary. Is there any switches or something I can tell him to modify in the install for it to upgrade Win98 to WinXP?

Thanks,

Nem

Even if he got an upgrade, the advice would be a clean install. He has just wasted some money on getting retail.
Best thing to do is to backup all data. Export address books and fravorites and emails, .....
Clean install.
Import the address books and emails, etc.
Copy the backups.
