WinXp pro SP2 VS Windows Server 2003 !

Hi guys just wanted to ask which OS is better for gaming XP pro or server 2003 ?Also in a typical desktop environment which is better? does server2k3 offer better features or performance, since it has additonal stuff like remote admin, support for Db's
Gaming wise, I've heard that Xp Pro cant address more than 4gigs of ram..whereas Server 2003 can support 16-32Gigs of ram. Do games run better on the latter ?

Is there any threads/reviews between the 2 OS's ? I'll be glad if anyone could comment on this thanks in advance. =)

Windows XP is the way to go. Windows Server is a)Much much more expensive (though it sounds like you would just steal it anyways) and b)not set up for gaming.

Server 2003 offers nothing over XP Pro for the home user, in fact it takes more to set it up for a home environment.

The RAM restriction is gone in XP-64 though I wouldn't get that myself.

There is nothing right now that would benefit from having more than 3gb of RAM. Not even Battlefield 2 would benefit with more than 3gb.

Gaming wise stick with XP Pro. If you are going to run a server an attach PC's and you want them to be secure than Server 2003 might be the way to go, but only if you are worried about what people would do with those other PC's.

Oh ic... so server2k3 offers no benefits over Xp Pro......if thats the case then how does Xp 32bit compair wif 64bit......in terms of performance which is better ?

I've heard horror stories about the 64 bit version of windows and trying to find drivers that work right.

I'll stick with XP Pro and wait for Vista.

I'm not really sure about the peformance issue. The link above would be the best place to find the info you need
