WinXP Pro Remote Desktop - Stopped working?

after using rdp into my home server for years, all of a sudden, rdp has stopped working from any computer on my lan. same ip, same settings, everything is the same - nothing has changed and i have verified this. when i try to connect i get the white popup that says the receiving machine basically can not be reached.

this just happend in the last couple of days - anybody else experiencing this?
 
Is it possible that some anti-virus type program ran an auto-update that reset a firewall on the server?
Have you recently updated any router firmware?
Can you still get a response across the LAN when you ping the server?

First thing I'd try is to temporarily disable all anti-virus applications and firewalls and attempt to connect to the server. If you can connect you just have to reconfigure your security settings.
 
i found it......kind of embarrassing...i had changed the port a long time ago. on my laptop i had run a cleaner that cleaned out the info in the laptop's rdp settings and therefore deleted the port number on the end of the ip...😱 :\ 😕
