winxp Pro problem

my friend has 2 60gig 7200 rpm maxtor hard drives ( IDE ). And he installed winXP pro on the prime maxtor, the installation went smoothly but then when he was about to boot to winXP the computer gave him a option to boot from either winXP pro or winXP pro and he had 25 seconds to choose. anyway to fix this?
 
yep go to control panel--> system --->advance---->startup recovery and edit the boot ini file so that there is only one win to boot to, and just out of curiosity post what drive and partion they both were asighned to?
