winXP Pro OEM or Retail?

how important is it to get winXP Pro retail over OEM? i know with video cards and other hardware, it could mean the difference between warranty, extra software, and other packaged goodies. but am i facing the same dilemma when purchasing OS software? and i'm sure all of you know, a large sum of $ can be saved buying OEM over retail when it comes to winXP. could someone lay down some pros and cons if i missed any?

XP is XP... just buy oem and save the money 🙂

I'm not sure, but I think tech support is the only difference... and the purty box of course 😉

Wrong... OEM's can customize WinXP in many ways. Most don't, but they can.
MS doesn't support OEM versions of XP. The OEM does.

Having said that, for most practical purposes, most OEM builds are the same as the MS retail build.

So, what is it that your saying? OEM IS BETTER? It sounds like your pushing OEM- or am I wrong? Does it really matter? What can you do different with OEM vs. Retail? -I know thats a broad question, but It would be nice to know! 🙂
