WinXP Pro LAN permissions...

This is a stubborn problem I've had all day. I know it's simple but I just can't find the setting amongst XP's archaic network parameters.

3 computers, peer-to-peer MS network, file sharing enabled. Each has only 1 user, unique to the others. 1 computer of the 3, "MAX", does not allow the other 2 to access it's shares without asking for a username/password. The shared folders themselves have network permissions set to "Everyone".

So, is there also a "Client" permission setting somewhere? If so, where in the heck is it?!!

I take it "MAX" is the only computer running XP?

All you need to do is to add the other users accounts to that XP box...thats it!!

the easiest way to add usernames and passwords to your XP box wouls be to go to the "start" button...then "settings"...then "control panel"...when the control panel screen comes up then click on the "users and password"....and then just add the username and passwords of the other users on you LAN...and then just make sure the other computers on you LAN have client for microsoft networks installed on the network settings..good luck
