WinXP Pro autoconv.exe problem with installation

It's this file, all the time. I have previously installed Windows XP Pro using the retail disk but this computer's cd-key is for the OEM version. I'm trying to use this guy's recovery cd but it keeps getting stuck on autoconv.exe. The cd does not look scratched up either.

Any ideas?

Have you tried deleting the PRIMARY partition and clearing the Master Boot Record (fdisk /mbr)?
