winxp pro and dvd movies

i am happily using winxp right now but the only problem so far that i found is the length of time the user has to wait before the program plays a newly inserted dvd movie. i am wondering if anyone is having the same problem as i am. i tried using power dvd 3.0 and windows media player to play the movies.

any response would be great =)
