If someone were to buy a retail WinXP Pro, install it on his machine, register and activate it and use it for awhile, then decide he didnt like it, would you have to purchase a new liscense for it if you were to purchase it from him? I think I have purchased most all my OS used on the forums, but one would have to be nuts to buy a used copy if you have to purchase a liscense as if you bought it retail new. NO?
I just want to know before I pay someone a bunch of green and have to buy it again when I install it.

You can buy it from him as long as you get the disc, the product key AND the License certificate. You will have to call Microsoft and activate over the phone, however.

Cool, thanks. As long as I dont have to whip out a credit card that would be fine with me. :) In the past people could use Win2k and never register it and then sell it, but with activation you have to register so I didnt know if they would make you buy a liscense or not.
