All but two of my power schemes are now missing - no big deal - BUT Iit will not allow me to create and save a scheme. It allows me to create one, apply it, but if I go back to the power scheme tab after exiting, my newly created power schemes are gone again.
How can I remedy this? (configurations are being created and saved in the registry - I can see there are names of files witht he names of profiles I created). Under the Registry in PowerConfig - it gives a vale for my current power policy - to be the same number of a folder that reflects the power policy I just created - but it does not shop up in my drop down list. It seems my power policies are there - but the control panel is not reading them. NOTE - I just exited and reentered the regedit - and the power policy number was changed to 1 - reflected one of the only two policies that it lets me select from
TIA
OK - a system restore fixed it - but had only upgraded to Media Player 10 - and ran Bootvis a few times. Anyway to fix this - if upgrading and running bootvis does this again? What would alter the power scheme management/control panel of windows?
