I am buying a new laptop and wondering which would be best to have preloaded. I haven't installed XP on my desktop yet...(still loving 2k) Any advice? Thanks all!!! :D

I would recommend you to install XP instead. It's really fast and more stable than 2k. Not too much but a little faster. Make sure your laptop has enough RAMs....

Either one is fine, Windows 2k is fine for laptops and it isnt any slower then Windows XP is on this platform.
XP will most likely be easier to install and configure as it has a broader driver base, but besides that i would say they are equal.

Just a note... the font clean-up for lcd screens on XP is really nice. I think they call it clear-type or something.
