My Okidata 6e printer doesn't work with XP. The text becomes garbled when printing. It worked fine in Win9x/ME!
I noticed the printer was set to not use an interrupt in XP, so I changed it to use one. But this didn't help.

My LPT1 port is configured as ECP in BIOS. Help please, I need to print something tonight! I don't want to go back to WinME!

Try using SPP or EPP. Switching to the basic port solved my Epson printer probelm of printing garbage in W2K while the ECP setting worked fine in Win98 on a dual boot system. SPP is suposed to be the slowest port setting but I notice no difference in print speeds.
