WinXP not recognizing my new 20" LCD using DVI?

I just received my Dell 2001fp 20" LCD.

I have a gf4 4200 64meg video card. on the vga port, i have my 17" monitor attached to it.

I plugged in my 20" into the DVI port and WinXP isn't seeing it. (The monitor is on.)

What am I doing wrong?

my 2005fpws have a button on the lower right that lets you flip through d-sub, dvi, svideo, composite... it's d-sub by default. you have to press it once to switch to dvi.
