WinXP mapped drive - File download dialog keeps popping up

I put a 120gig drive in my server and I mapped the drives onto my desktop, but I can't seem to execute *.exe files without the file download dialog popping up asking me whether or not I want to open the file. This is very annoying, how do I make it go away and let the mapped drive act like a local drive?
