WinXP licensing question....

Right now I have WinXP Pro on my desktop. I just ordered a laptop from Dell that sihps with WinXP Home. I rather keep the WinXP Pro and install it on the laptop. Am I allowed to install WinXP home on the desktop and sell the desktop? I'm not really sure since most likely the laptop's version of WinXP Home will be an OEM copy.

No. The XP Home that ships with your Dell is ONLY for use on that Dell. It's part of the OEM license agreement. You can replace it with XP Pro if you choose, but you can't use that copy of XP Home on another machine.

Yes... since you are selling WinXP home OEM with hardware, it can be done.

Wrong. The OEM copies you are talking about are from online stores such as Newegg and ZZF that can be traded with a piece of core hardware.

Reseller OEM's are tied to the machine, and should only be sold with the machine.
