WinXP language bar and speaker problems

Everything had been fine until I reinstalled Norton Utilities 2002. Now my language bar pops up in the upper side of the screen each time I fire up the Norton Util. Integrator. WFT? I didn't do anything with the settings of the language bar. The only option I had was to switch it off. Fine, now I don't see which character set I'm using. That's OK. Is there any remedy to the problem?

Also... It started together with the language bar problems - now each time I adjust the audio volume the PC Speaker (!!!! Again WTF?) emits a loud beep which is very annoying. Oh why, why... I have never seen anything like that happen before.

I'm begging for your help... I'm using WinXP Pro SP1 without any extra updates and I didn't play with those corresponding settings... Have no idea what might be causing this...

Allright, I solved the language bar problem. Ought to RTFM more often, he-he. Now... I still don't get why each time I adjust the sound volume I get a loud beep from that crappy PC speaker! Any ideas?
