WinXP keeps crashing and programs shut off randomly

WC3 (it quits randomly pretty often, about half of my games):

I'm pretty sure it's not memory, because I did a 36 hour memory burn in test after this happened a few times and all the tests passed.

Sometimes Internet Explorer just shuts down randomly where it closes all the windows but no error message shows up.

Sometimes in Windows Explorer all the disk drive icons just get disappear or get replaced with gibberish. I am not running any 3rd party customization programs of any sort.

I tried DocSimm memory tester earlier and it seemed fine, but then I used Memtest86 and I found out it was a bad stick of RAM. :disgust:

Do you have all the latest Windows updates? Do you have all your software and hardware(drivers) updated? If yes to the above questions, then you might want to try to reinstall Windows?

i'm surprised no one was able to answer this thread right when you posted it, its fairly obvious.

do you still have a warranty on the ram so you can get another stick free?
