Hi all
My roommate has problems with his XP machine. Here goes:
Cable-Modem to NIC works fine
Cable-Modem to Hub to NIC hardly works at all
Checking the Network statistics reveals that all works fine with the direct connection to the cable-modem, but when the hub is in between the NIC and the cable-modem, zero packets are received.
Occasionally, a handful of packets makes it through, but then that's it for a while. Internet doesn't work then at all. Can't get the DHCP information and all that.
What would keep the computer from receiving packets if the only difference is the fact that there's a hub in between?
I tried another hub, no-go. Messed with all the darn wizards, no-go. Switched cables, no-go.
HELP! Please. . .
