im just wonderin how good the built in Firewall is compared to Zonealarm (which bugs me cause a fair bit with blocking people from downloading files when using P2P programmes)? how good is it really security, is there any major pitfalls?

The XP one protects against incoming threats (but has a very poor UI). ZoneAlarm, Norton, etc also protect against outgoing threats (code on your system trying to connect out without your permission, like spyware)

really stupido question cause i should ask it on the software forum but since i already have made a thread about it, what is beta, ZoneAlarm or Norton? personal opinions?

Mem,

Are you sure that Tiny 3.0 is free? I know it used to be free for personal use but I think after Tiny spun off a part of its firewall development team to Kerio, Tiny began charging for its firewall. I didn't see any info. on the website you've linked about a free usage of Tiny 3.0. If I'm wrong, please let me know 'cause I would like to try the new 3.0 version.

And Norton includes Antivirus, url blocking, parental controls, etc. So, free doesn't always = better.

Nuff said, ha.
