winxp-- installing new hd .......help!

ok i put my new harddrive into my machine...

winxp detects my hard drive in the device manager...
but it doesn't show up in my computer...


how do i format this harddrive to ntfs and start using it????

you need to go to "disk administrator" in winxp

there, you can locate the hard drive, right click on it, and format it in NTFS

You can put your windxp cd in and just go to the point where it says format a drive. Make sure you pick the right drive and it will format it for you, either ntfs or fat32.
