Hi guys.

Need some help- im thinking perhaps its a memory problem.

I noticed a PC at work stuck in a never ending loop of loading windows, then restarting etc.

Safe Mode did the same, so I started installing windows again.

It loads files fine and gets to the setup screen and freezes on 39 minutes remaining.

I will run memtest and see how I go but does this sound like a memory issue to you guys?

Cheers

Check Disk should fix that. You will have to boot to the windos disk and run it from the repair console.

I had this same issue probably 3 years ago. It had to do with heat and my computer locking up. It could also be a bad disc as well.

If it were a SATA issue he wouldn't be at the gui portion of the install. I second the chkdsk test. sounds like your drive might be dying.

I've had the setup get past the text mode portion only to have it freak out in GUI mode - the issue was SATA drivers. Specifically the wrong ones loaded. Very similar names, chose the wrong one.

I'm thinking bad HD or memory thats on the way out - very slightly bad.
