WinXP inf File?

When I boot off of my XP OS (Nforce2/AMD Rig) before reaching the Startup in DOS I get Win Inf File Invalid 2nd line something like Boot from C:/Windows/inf
Then go to the OS (it's all good). I've gone to msconfig and unchecked Process WIN.INI File and still get the same result...any solutions or reason why this happens? TIA

You didn't post the exact, entire error text. Please do so.

It sounds, however, like plug and play has detected new hardware and is trying to install the driver, but found an .inf file that is malformed. Check setupapi.log to try to determine which file it might be.
