WinXP: how to preserve folder timestamps when copying?

I'm copying folders from one drive to another. The timestamps of the new folders are not the same as the old folders (they are the current time & date), but the files in the folders do have the same timestamps.

Is there any way to keep the folders' timestamps the same when copying?

I tried zipping the folders, but that didn't work either.

To preserve creation and folder timestamps, you can use WinRAR to create an archive, then extract the archive directly to the new folder.

To add to this excellent idea...
You can speed up creating the archive and the extraction by turning off compression in winrar.

I wish there was a -p option like in unix!

Just, wondering, is it possible to do the opposite with RAR, or zip archives. I mean that I want to have the timestamp be the current date at my option?

Thanks
