I'm working on a computer for someone who wasn't able to get on the internet and install programs. The problem was that the people using the computer deleted all the accounts set up on it, so the only thing left was the Owner account, so that's what they were using all the time.
What I'd like to do is give them a limited account to use by default... but I want them to be able to install software when they want to, like for kids school work and stuff like that. What I want to do is lock things down a bit when they're just browsing the web and checking e-mail and stuff like that.
A limited account doesn't allow huge system wide changes to be made, but it also doesn't allow the user to install software. Is there a way I can make an account that allows the user to install software? Or would I have to set it up to prompt for an administrator name and password when installing software?
Any other suggestions to accomplish this?
