Winxp home new install

Just installed Winxp home from OEM on new built.
When boot computer first screen is a full check of all drivers and status report of all components.
Once done boots windows and from there is fine.
I know the computer normally does this check, but never seen it as all previous computers I owned came installed from factory,
QUESTION
Is there an option to have this system check done without the full screen report.
Is sort of a nuisance but nothing I cannot live with.
ANOTHER QUESTION
On the turnoff choices I only have
Turnoff
Restart
No Standby?
How do I enable Standby?
Thank you
David

New Built
MOBO C51G-M754 AMD 3200
WinXPHome SP2
Ram 512

Also be sure that you install the driver software for your motherboard's chipset, and for your video card or your onboard video chip. I think you want these motherboard-chipset drivers. If you are using the onboard video, I think that will also get your video drivers installed at the same time.

You probably have some piece of hardware installed which will not allow standby. Promise controllers are famous for these types of problems, just as a for-instance.

Thank you very much, will go ahead with the new install, add most basic prgms. and then will focus on drives.
I was working on that computer and briefly took a pick at Device Manager and founf yellow marks on two areas video and cannot remember the other but sort of addresses above suggestions.
Need to check possible conflicts with hardware.
Also I think I need to download and bring Windows to uptodate updates/upgrades.
thank you very much for all your help.
David
