WinXP randomly freezes and hangs when I do a Shutdown from the Start Menu. It says something about a program called DEVLDR not responding and to end now or cancel. What is this DEVLDR program and what does it control? I did a file search for DEVLDR and found it or something called devldr32 in the system32 folder under prefetch.

DEVLDR is normally part of Creative's Souncard drivers. If you have an SBLive, make sure that you grab the new set of drivers from Creative. If you have an Audigy, you need to wait for another week or so for the new drivers.

Okay that's what I was wondering about. I have the SB Live with Drive 5.1. I had the drivers that came on the CD-ROM installed. Then I went to install the updated drivers from Creative's website. That's when my problems started. I installed the new drive pack over the old drivers and stuff, which is what was required. Then when I went to upgrade the remote, it wouldn't detect the Live Drive. So, I uninstalled everything. Reinstalled the original CD-ROM drivers and programs and just the new live upgrade pack, but without the remote upgrade. When I'd boot up and the SB stuff was loading I'd get a green box saying "Sending Test String." What is that? Right now I unstalled everything, or at least I thought I did...
