So I'm applying for a job in the publishing field (a field I have very little experience in) and plan on writing a witty, funny, though non-offensive cover letter. I don't really think that I have a chance getting the job but my friend insists that I apply - am I going to risk anything by having a little fun with the letter? OK, I won't curse or do anything crude. I'm just going to try to stress my willingness to learn and my good /genial attitude over my experience (or lack there of).. Good idea or bad idea?
UPDATE: Here's my intro.. I'm not mailing this out, just screwing around.
*ODD UPDATE*
So I was bored and spent the time writing this silly and absurd cover letter using the above intro. I was so indifferent that I posted the letter and my resume in a "jobs wanted" section of a classified site. So far two people loved it and I have an interview with a law firm and askjeeves 😉

While the irony that he probably lost his job to one of his cousins now living in Indian sunk in, Samuel decided that his life needed a new direction.
