I'm looking to buy a cheap, new soundcard and heard the Philps Seismic Edge (PSC705) looks promising. Im just wondering about driver support for this card. Is windows XP currently supported? Any comments about its performance in WinXP?

Any suggestion for a cheap pair of speakers (under $60)

Thanks

Hey there

Yes, the seismic edge is fully supported in WinXP ....check http://pcsound.philips.com and visit 3Dsoundsurge's Philips Forum for more info....I"m a proud owner of the acoustic edge....nothing can beat this baby

The Seismic Edge II (PSC705) has the exact same DSP as the Acoustic Edge. The only difference is the AE has SPDI/F in, while the SE only has SPDI/F out. Great card for the price..only $39 shipped @ Newegg. Check out 3D Sound Surge for the latest beta drivers. :)

I just bought the Philips seismic edge from pcmicrostore.com for $20 and the logitech z340 speakers from buy.com for $40. For $60 the setup sounds great and runs flawlessly in Windows XP. Bought a set of Sennheiser HD497's too which sound great if you are looking for nice headphones.
