WinXP doesn't boot on ghosted HD

I ghosted my old HD to a new one. I set the second HD as master. It booted XP fine. Then I booted 2k (dual boot rig) and got rid of my old HD and unformatted it. Now I try to boot XP and it hangs at the blue winXP screen... right before it says "welcome" and right after the black screen that says winxp. How can I fix this short of reinstalling XP? 2K boots fine for some reason, but I have all my programs and settings in XP. 🙁
