WinXP default print protocol

What is the default network printer protocol for WinXP? I keep getting conflicting answers....

There is no "default", since you would manually add a network printer usually. However if the printer is located via the Windows Network, then it would use TCP/IP to send the data after locating it via the NetBIOS name, since NetBIOS now runs over TCP/IP.
