hi,
i have win xp. i recently installed redhat fedora core 2, thats working fine, but now in windows xp home, my original drive, which had c and d: for windows, the d: is not working, it is displyed in my computer, but when i click on it, it says it is not formatted, do you want to format it?!.0 When I right click on d: and check its space (the pie chart), it shows it as no space available and completely filled up. What is wrong here?

Other noteable things: 1. i am not sure if this was direct cause of red hat installaton
2. redhat gave me soem error during installation (not an error, but kind of a caution) that something was wrong with y this and that and so i had to use manual partition, now, I have been through partitioning drives many times, i am no expert, nor a beginner, but i did not format the wrong drives. What I formatted was an earlier linux partitions.

so, help me please

Perhaps you DID format the D: partition and didn't realize it. Was D in an Extended partition? Go into Disk manager and check and see what it says. You could have futzed up the MFT but I'm not sure. It would help if you had the error from the FC2 install. Only other thing I can think of is try and find a data recovery prog somewhere and see if it can recover the data on tha partition.
