HEY I JUST INSTALLED WINDOWSXP PRO CORPORATE AND ITS BEEN PAST THIRTY DAYS AND NO ACTIVATION REMINDER AND NO CD KEYT?IS THIS ACCURATE ?I THOUGHT YOU HAD TO ACTIVATE IT AND HACVE A CD KEY...WHATS UP?

It should have asked for a 'cd key' (actually the select vendor info) when you first installed. As was posted that version does not require activation at all. You may be confusing it with the MSDN version which requires activation after 60 days.

Bill

Ask your IT department about how it works. They should really be dealing with *ALL* of your XP Corporate Edition needs.

<< No activation, you say? Now I don't even need the cracking utility! >>

seems he has the corporate version which doesn't need activation!

bsobel - I don't think the MSDN version requires activation. I'm using the MSDN version so to check it I just reset my BIOS clock ahead to 4-15-02 and rebooted a couple of times, everthing's working just great so far (knock wood).

Hmm, my MSDN universal does. It allows upto 10 activations on different machine. The readme that came with it actually said that if you need to install on additional machines for testing that was ok but to slick the machines withint 60 days so you wouldn't get hit with activation (and then count against your 10).

Not sure why your's would be different.

Confused,
Bill

well i dont know what to think its been past 60 days and all is well....but im like this ive used copys of q3 and unreal and once ive liked something that was burned for me i just go out and buy it...i guess thats stupid because the burnt stuff works fine i just like how the companies make it and if thiers something wqrong i can get support so ill just get my own i guess unless my friend says that its ok and im not doing anything wrong....i mean if we dont buy this stuff(even thougfh its sometimes high priced ) than their wont be any software and i want stability and dont want to worry about the operating system being flawed and also my original handle was"billgatespenis" before the moderator changed it because he fouynd it offensive!!hence the qoute makes sense dont it??
