:(
Recently I just re-installed WinXP on my computer and I've noticed that after a couple of hours of activity I won't be able to access my CDR/RW. Same thing goes for the DVD player. If I insert a disc and try to open it, it would give a msg that its searching for a disc but nothing is there. Before the re-installed, I didn't have this problem. Basically I'm using the same programs as before. The only way to access my CD drive is to reboot the computer, but after a certain period of time, I wouldn't be able to access it again. I have no idea. Any help in the matter would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard of this problem before. What burning software are you using? Is it Nero? You can try searching the forums at http://www.ntcompatible.com/vb/index.php. Someone in my dorm had a similar problem and I found the answer there, I think it had to do with deleting a regestry key.
