winxp bus mastering drivers

after a truely painless and troublefree install of winxp home on my freshly built computer, i am suffering only one aggravation. every time the machine is started, it wants to install the ide bus mastering drivers. i have consulted abit (kg7raid), gotten their newest xp 4in1 drivers, but xp doesn't want/like them. anyone had similar problems? i'm grateful for any input.

How are you trying to install the 4in1s? Get the latest ones directly from VIA. Are you trying to run the install program? Try just expanding the drivers to a location and then using the XP driver update feature to install from that location.

i am letting the device install wizard, which comes up every start up, do the installation. it notifies me that the drivers need to be installed, i choose the option to install from a specific location, then point to the directory where they have been unzipped to. i have tried the abit driver, i will go get the via version and try theirs. thanks for the advice, i'll report the results.

no further luck with drivers from via, not sure where to turn at this point, still would appreciate anyone's input, thanks
