win xp failed while installing on me, and i want to get rid of the boot manager.

what do i need to delete?

i'm assuming its the same as the win2k boot manager so anyone that knows that may be able to help me too.

what is your original OS?

- if it was win9x, make a boot disk, boto from it, then type sys /mbr c: this will get rid of the bootmanager, and you can delete the boot manager files in c: root

- if you were running w2k, boot from w2k CD and choose repair, that should restore w2k boot manager

I was running win98

what i had to do was this:

fdisk /mbr
sys c:

thanks for the input. when i realized that /mbr wasn't a parameter for sys, I did a search for it and realized that what you were thinking of was fdisk /mbr.
