WinXP: any performance difference between 512mg and 768 mg ram

Any opinions..I know if I do CAD or alot Video editing which I do not this is probably important..but for everyday apps, games, cd burning..is it worth it??

As you stated "CAD or alot Video editing" will benefit from more. Some games will too, don't think many apps or CD burning will. My $.02 Although I do run a Gig of Ram in my set up.

If you're doing CAD, get another 512MB. You'll definatly see an increase in performance.

If the memory is free, it's ALWAYS worth it! :D

It depends on how much Cad, video editing, etc. you do. I know that changing from 128MB to 384MB RAM cut down my rendering time in 3dsmax by 20% (3 objects, 1 volumetric light, 80 frames at 200x400).

Thanks for the quick responses...I do not do CAD and video editing...so it seems 512 mg ram will be fine
