WinXP annoyances.....

Can someone show me how to get rid of the clicking noise when I click the Start button and move it around the menu? Also, the clickng noise whenever I hit a link in IE6.

go into the control panel and then open the sounds and speech aplet. Click on change the sound scheme. Scroll down to Windows Explorer and change the sound for "Start Navigation" to none.


click, click, click...very annoying


I have people at work who change the Start Navigation sound to very long wav files like the windows startup sound. Talk about annoying. :|

ummm..have you used windows before? just go into controlpanel then sounds and turn off anything you don't want.
