WinXP and Win2k, they don't see each other

Well, what we really need is more details about how the machines are connected. Are you sharing Internet, is there a router, what protocols are you using?

Assuming TCP/IP, check to make sure NETBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on all machines. Also, you can consider installing the NETBEUI protocol if other measures don't work.

you need to get a special patch and install it on the win2k machine so they can see each other. i had the same prolbem with my uncles PCs

I have a bunch of W2K machines with some XP and a couple of W98, one Linux. They don't need any "special" patches to see other machines of any flavor.

If you are only sharing a few workstations on a switched lan, you should use Netbeui, and not TCP/Netbios.

There are tonnes of faqs on this site and many others on the net. Search for them.
